Chikombedzi Artist To Showcase Talent At Birthday Bash

By Titos Makondo

CHIKOMBEDZI’s celebrated sungura artist is set to mark his 31st birthday with a live musical show on January 31st at Mutsetse Bottle Store in Chikombedzi.

The event promises a vibrant atmosphere as Lenso of Ntomeni Express will take to the stage to showcase his talent and promote his latest releases.

“The 31st is my 31st birthday, and I invite everyone to join me as I celebrate by doing what I love most – entertaining the crowd with great music,” he said, encouraging music lovers to attend the event in large numbers.

Lenso discovered his musical talent at a young age. He pursued his passion with unwavering commitment, gaining recognition after the release of his first single, “Baccosi,” in 2015.

Since then, he has been consistently performing live shows across the district, regardless of the circumstances.

“Live performances have become a way of life for me. My shows have been met with both praise and criticism, some of which has been distorted,” he stated.

He recounted a particularly harrowing experience from last year in Makambe, Chiredzi South, where a group of unruly locals disrupted his show, vandalizing his instruments and leaving him with physical injuries.

“I reported the incident at Chikombedzi police station, but it’s frustrating to see the perpetrators roaming freely in Chiredzi South. It’s an injustice and a painful reminder,” Lenso recalled, adding that he hopes his equipment will be recovered.

Lenso, who boasts five albums and numerous singles, appealed for due respect to be given to all artists.

“I humbly ask the community to accord artists the respect we deserve, especially during performances. We do this not only for entertainment but also to earn a living,” he said.
