Poetry: LOVE

Michelle Dube

I’m writing this out of love
The kind l don’t deserve
The one that a teenage girl would kill for
The one that puts butterflies in your tummy

Ok, let me not sound like a fairy tale
But you became my Adam
By that u made me feel like Eve
Like l was made from your rib
And l m using a part of you everyday
No wonder l m pulled to you

You just don’t have that ability to make me laugh
Cause every boy can do it
But it takes a gentleman to make me cry
And that’s you

Your presence completes me
Your smile builds me
Your touch puts me together
Your voice makes my day

Even this poem can’t express how l feel
I feel like a little bird set out to fly
A lion on it’s first hunt
A bride on her day

When l close my eyes to pray
U the first sentence
And l can never thank God enough for you
When l say amen and open my eyes
Heavens kill me for lying
Cause l think of you and smile again
